SATTVA
CONTENTMENT. CLARITY. PEACE.
Meditation & Yoga Workshop Series with Michael King
What is Sattva?
Sattva, which means light, represents the true nature of the mind. According to the old yogis, when the mind is in a truly Sattvic state we can begin to realise the contentment, the clarity and the peace that’s at the core of who we really are.
Really, the entire path of yoga is designed to be a journey towards clarity, light, and self knowledge aka, Sattva.
Sattva is one of the 3 Gunas of yoga, or the 3 fundamental principles of nature. The other 2 being Tamas (matter/darkness) and Rajas (action/energy). In this workshop series we will use the full map of yoga to balance these Gunas, or natural forces, within ourselves so we can experience lives filled with real peace and bliss.
SATTVA WORKSHOP 1 - FIRE AND LIGHT
Hatha Yoga Masterclass, Friday 20th July 6.30pm - 8.30pm
This 2 hour workshop has 2 primary purposes.
To discover how we can use a full-spectrum yoga class (Asana, Pranayama, Bandha, Mudra and Meditation) to bring the inner experience of Sattva alive.
And secondly to use this workshop as preparation for deep and transformative states of meditation, which will lead us perfectly into the next 2 workshop.
Workshop 1 - $55
SATTVA WORKSHOP 2 - FOCUS
Meditation Workshop, Saturday July 21st 12.00pm - 2.30pm
In this 2.5 hour workshop will look specifically at the gifts of creating a focused and attentive mind. According to the old yogis we can expand our minds beyond our wildest dreams, but first, we must concentrate the mind, fully and effectively. Among many other things, a concentrated mind means more energy, more peace and more creative capacity.
In this workshop you will learn:
What is the mind according to yoga
The science of concentration
How we can bring harmony to the totality of the mind in order to make the deeper states of meditation more accessible
How to direct your focused mind in towards the things that matter most to you and therefore awakening your creative capacity
Workshop 2 - $65
SATTVA WORKSHOP 3 - LIGHTING THE FLAME OF AWARENESS
Meditation Masterclass. Sunday July 22nd. 12.00pm - 2.30pm
This 2.5 hour workshop will focus specifically on further cementing the inner state of Sattva and use the practice of traditional Vedantic meditation to look at what lies even beyond the Gunas, which according to the tradition, is pure love.
With the body and mind prepared, concentrated, open and receptive we will be able to take the practice of meditation to a whole new level through the vedic science of self-inquiry.
In this masterclass you will learn
How to use self inquiry as a transformative meditative tool both on and off the cushion
How to light the flame of awareness within and therefore see the whole world as lit up
How to transcend the mind and emotions and rest in the healing essence of being
Workshop 3 - $65
OR
You can attend the workshops individually, or all 3. The workshops will however work progressively and we’d love for you to attend all three so hopefully this deal makes it a no-brainer.

What others are saying...
"Michael is a natural born teacher, one of the rare few that I've seen. The depth of his capacity to impart profound knowledge is a constant source of awe for me, just as the depth of his humor is a constant source of my joy. When you find a teacher like Michael, that so skillfully weaves together the science of Yoga, his own innate wisdom, relentless authenticity and killer wit, what you have is a recipe for greatness, and believe me, I don't say things like that lightly. Michael is and will continue to be a powerful force in the Yoga world. That I know for sure."
